The Future Ain't What It Used To Be

I haven't even received the password to start my web comic yet, and I've already suffered a major setback. The only copy machine in Chinle has been replaced with a new one that doesn't allow for an 11 x 17 inch original. Unfortunately, I draw my pages 10 x 15. I had intended to ink a new page a week, make a copy in town, and then scan it onto my web page. This is no longer an option I'm afraid, and I've had to rethink my whole plan. Now, the nearest copy machine that would work for me is a two to three hour drive from here. The trouble with my scanner (aside from the glass being only letter size) is that it shows each brush stroke of white out and every paste up line. On a copy machine I can usually mess around with the contrast and get a clean copy eventually. Perhaps another cartoonist who is computer aged could work around this problem but I simply cannot. I guess, I could buy myself a bigger scanner but that is something I cannot afford to do at this time. So, I've decided to concentrate on the Warlock Hotel specifically and post the entire story line from my mini-comics (albeit somewhat reworked) before I present any new artwork on-line. This will allow me to finish several pages before driving miles to get a clean copy. Only a few friends and colleagues have seen my mini-comics anyway. It will be brand new to most of my audience. Also, by sticking to a single story line I might be able to generate more interest than with the anthology approach I was intending to do. But, I'm afraid my Greg Brady story won't be seen for at least a year or more now.
