Faces, Friends, and Fans!

I recently made the plunge and got on myspace and facebook. However, compared to livejournal they seem kind of worthless. But in an effort to get more "Weekly" readers I've also created a fan page for "ZiNC COMICS." So, if you have a facebook account become a fan http://www.facebook.com/pages/ZiNC-COMICS/332958361838 or you can also add Brian Payne to your friends list if you want.

Never tried Facebook, but I agree that myspace is worthless. Loving the photo. I am sooo behind on your comics again. Sorry.

It appears that there is nothing like Livejournal. Facebook is filled with tweet type posts mainly and I really don't care what people eat for dinner. However, facebook is good for finding old "friends" and networking with professional cartoonists and at this point in my "career" I'm willing to try almost anything.

I plan to put out another mini comic soon and you remain on my comp list. So, if all goes according to plan, you'll get a copy of the recent stuff in a month or two.

That is one of Facebooks selling points ... reconnecting with old friends and people you knew in high school. But frankly I do not want to reconnect with any of those assholes ... that is why i do not talk to them anymore. Gesh!

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I can't believe some of the people that have contacted me from my past. I've had to pull out my yearbook just to remember who they are. Even, those I enjoyed hearing from only remind me that if they were real friends why did we lose touch for 25 years.

Yet. making a connection (however tenuous) with the likes of Mary Fleener, Josh Cotter, Ho Che Anderson, Steve Lafler , John Porcellino, Paul Hornschemeier, Terry LaBan, Stephen Bissette, Gary Spencer Millidge, Cayetano Garza Jr., Richard Sala and Gabrielle Bell can't hurt any cartoonist from beneath the underground. It also restores my faith in the cartoonist fraternity that I began to doubt when many lesser names than those I just mentioned didn't bother to reciprocate my friendship here on livejournal.

Perhaps, that is one of the main reasons you continue to receive comp copies of my comics. As even though we've never met I still consider you to be a true friend.

I do as well ... one of these days one of us will have to take a vacation and plan a visit!

I keep on getting copies of your comics in the mail. I really should be paying a subscription fee ...
