I realize you are in the summer repeats, however, do we have any updates on what you have been up to? Have you been drawing everyday? Is there a particular project you are working on. Any ETA on when this will be published. Are you looking for a free inker who is looking for experience?

I haven't been drawing as much as I should and definitely not every day. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with my father's financial and health problems long distance. I've been ill myself for over a month and have also been getting my studio organized. I am currently working on "The Magician," "Bleu," "I Was Brainwashed To Be A Brady," and "Outrider: Walk In Beauty." If any of these stories will ever be published or not remains to be seen. I may just post them on Webcomics Nation. I don't know how to scan blue pencil drawings and my computer skills are that of a troglodyte so getting you something to ink is problematic and although I am a self-described "control freak" I am open to working with you.

I hope everything works out for you and your father.

I have found that most scanners can pick up blue pencil if you scan in color, but I do not know which scanner and what software you are using.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks! My bronchitis is almost gone but my father is undergoing still more tests back in Iowa as I type these words.

I have a cheap HP All-in One scanner. Another problem I have is that I draw 10" x 15" on 11"x 17" paper and my scanner's image area is 81/2" x 11."

I appreciate your concern for my Pop.

If you do not mind me asking, what is your father's medical difficulty?

Arg ... one of my banes on my early pursuits into creating comics has been trying to find a scanner that is larger than the standard US letter size. I know they are out there, but I have never had the cash at the right time. I wish I had $135 bucks to spare ... http://www.electronics-cheapshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=276

My Dad had a stroke a while back and suffers seizures. They used to occur months if not years apart but over the past few weeks they have gotten worse and more frequent (almost every other day) and the scary thing is the doctors don't know what's causing them all they do is adjust his medication. In the past week and a half he's been to the emergency room twice after falling during a seizure and hurting himself. I have family looking after him but I still feel guilty (I was raised catholic) that I'm not there.

I wish I'd known what scanner to buy but I always figured I could use a copy machine to reduce everything. Unfortunately, there isn't a copy machine within a hundred mile radius of where I live and believe it or not I don't know how to drive.

My dad has had two MRI's in the past two weeks alone. Over the years they've ran millions of test but still don't know the cause of the seizures.

As I read about this, stroke is the topic of today's "Fresh Air" on NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=13

Good luck to your father and family. Hopefully. is it only a matter of getting the right balance with medication.

I'm not saying that it's a good thing but it's my midwest "stoicism" that makes me suffer in silence.

I'm O.K. but it has been hard being so far away from my dad at this time. Look for my new strip "Works" sometime in August or September but until then I hope that you're enjoying my "Idle Drawings."

Brian, let me know if there is anything I can do? I can get to Ottumwa in about 3 hours if need be.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer and I may take you up on that someday, but at present my brothers and sister in law are there and dad's brother too thats why I'm not already on a train. This is the worst the seizures have ever been and we can only hope the doctors know what they're doing. Remembering Pop in your prayers is about all any of us can do right now.
