Now, that "Jōnin" is complete (not that anyone noticed), I find myself at an artistic impasse and confronting a big dilemma. It's not that I'm at a loss for ideas (I've always got a backlog of those) but rather I'm not quite sure of how the new ones should be presented exactly. I've come to realize that a continued storyline is downright hard if not impossible for most people to follow online. Especially, if I am only able to post a new page once per week. While work continues albeit slowly on the "Midnight Agents" project I must admit that I've hit the wall or the bonk, something which usually only manifests itself by sudden fatigue and loss of energy in endurance sports such as running and cycling. Yet, lately I wake up and can't help but feel a little bit like good old mythical Sisyphus and with a growing awareness of the futility of my own artistic efforts nonetheless.
Therefore, I'm going to take a few weeks off from posting any new comics here and focus on recharging my creative batteries. My plan for the future is to ink the "Midnight Agents" pages I've already drawn throughout the year or as slowly as I work perhaps into the next as well and then publish them as an honest-to-god comic book or a series of digest sized periodicals. I also plan to continue to experiment with different techniques and formats for the foreseeable future. Toward that end, I've created "Zinc Comics Works" as a supplemental art blog of whimsical pictures, paintings, pin-ups, sketches, scribbles, drawings, doodles, comics, cartoons, and caricatures. I post online at http://zinccomics.com/ each Monday and Friday and have been for the past month or so. I hope you'll follow me there during my working vacation. Once I finish inking the newspaper style strips I'll resume posting "Zinc Comics Weekly" here.
In the meantime, you can also read my WebComics Nation archives at http://www.webcomicsnation.com/zinccomics/ and/or like my facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/ZiNC-COMICS/332958361838 if you are so inclined. However, rest assured that just like MacArthur, "I shall return."
